Methmine Browser

Getting started

How the build reaches you, the first sign-in, and the first profile.

The build

Closed beta members get the browser. Entry is by application or by a member’s invitation; those accepted get the build and a place in the community under a handle. The build runs on Windows.

The first sign-in

  1. The account

An account is an email and a password. A confirmation link goes to the address: open it, then come back to the app.

  2. Signing in

The sign-in screen asks for the email and the password. The same password opens the profiles on this disk.

  3. The first profile

The browser asks you to make your first profile. One question matters: how it goes out. Everything else is decided for you.

  4. Launch

A profile with no egress chosen will save, and it will not launch; its row says so before launch, not after. Choose an egress and press Launch.

What works today

  • A build is at the closed beta testers.
  • Sign-in with an email and a password works.
  • The engine builds and passes its browser checks on the bench; the network-layer check passes against our build.
  • The profile manager exists; its screens are described in this section from the design build.
  • The account password can be reset; a reset does not open the profiles. The recovery key does, and for now that is done from the command line, not from the app.
